WELCOME TO HAZEY WAVEZ

I’m Jennifer — wife, illustrator, photographer, entrepreneur, faux interior decorator, and first generation Honduran-American. I started Hazey Wavez to document my life as a digital journal and my hope is to ripple good vibez through my little online space.

Some of you guys may know me as the illustrator behind Ola Studios back in 2019. Although I love illustrating, there is so much more that I would love to share with the world. I originally created this space to explore and discuss anything from faith, home, interior decorating, marriage, lifestyle and my photo journal. This has since evolved to highlight my passion for documenting love and people.

Hazey Wavez has now become a brand that focuses on holding a special space for all of your magical moments with visual poetry that makes you feel.

A little back story to how I picked out the name

When I was in middle school, Tumblr was really popular so I created a page. I kept up with my Tumblr page until my junior year of college and then I took it down and made it my handle on Instagram.

I initially chose these words because of the visual they inspired, but then their meaning became something I grew to love. I have always imagined myself waking up somewhere and feeling sand in-between my toes, sitting by the ocean with beautiful mist above it, giving me a serene feeling. Funny enough, this name inspired my business — I named it Ola Studios (ola means wave in Spanish).

Haze: characterized by the presence of haze; misty

Wave: a moving ridge or swell on the surface of a liquid (as of the sea)

As I journey through life, I love to characterize my experiences as “hazey wavez” — I can’t really see what is ahead of me, but I see all the ripples that cause a chain reaction. All I can hope for is that my “wavez” can ripple into creating positivity and happiness for those around me.
